The impact of uncredited hired guns and studio musicians on popular culture has been invaluable as artists working in the shadows to guarantee a successful commercial outcome.  The convening of L.A.’s already prolific side men into their own band called Toto in 1977 was monumental, but ironically floated just under the radar until the massive success of their fourth album, Toto IV, which spawned their enduring hits “Africa” and “Rosanna” solidified their standing as headliners.  Enduring many member changes, the band has steadfastly remained the product of the sum of its remarkable parts.

Ohio’s Takin’ It Back pays homage to the masterworks of Toto's repertoire, including Toto’s own hits and those made possible by the members of Toto as creative side men.  The precision required to perform this music is what Takin’ It Back seeks to showcase in their performance without compromising the energy and passion that make each event a memorable experience for the audience.
